Installation of a larger solar panel on Cliff's trailer has meant batteries can be charged on the go. The solar panel charges a battery which has an inverter connected to it. A standard charger is plugged into the inverter, charging the batteries from the power of the sun.
Cliff says the system is not yet perfect with the winter sun being quite weak, the battery is sometimes not charged quickly enough to sustain the system. Parking with the trailer in the sunlight is sometimes a challenge as well. But overall Cliff is finding that he can get as much charge as he uses during the day.
